FLASH NEWS: Very successful was the 109th Guinarona Fiesta for San Pascual Baylon. May 15 at 2:30 p.m., we were able to inaugurate and install the 15th Century relic of San Pascual Baylon, which was sent in by the Basilica San Pascual Baylon in Vila-real, Spain. May 16 at 4 p.m., the relic was in the fiesta procession as well, being held aloft by the Deacon. May 17, during the Concelebrated Pontifical High Mass, there was mass adoration for and paying of respects to the relic, beginning with the Archbishop of Palo and the 18 priests that also officiated the mass. One by one the thousands of San Pascual devotees and fiesta goers lined up for hours to pay their respects. The sight was goose-bumps inducing.

The Archbishop of Palo read the relic’s certificate of authenticity, and he confirmed that the relic is Class A, meaning that it comes from the body of San Pascual Baylon, namely a portion of the saint’s bone.

As of this writing, San Pascual’s relic is being kept at the convent in Guinarona, and a meeting is being held as to how to insure its proper display. The consensus is that it should be embossed in concrete, and will only be taken out during important occasions. Report by Romeo Magcuro, Jr.

FLASH NEWS: Muy exitoso fue el 109 Guinarona Fiesta de San Pascual Bailón. 15 de mayo a las 2:30 pm, pudimos inaugurar e instalar la reliquia del siglo 15 de San Pascual Bailón, que fue enviado por la Basílica de San Pascual Baylón en Vila-real, España. 16 de mayo a las 4 pm, la reliquia fue en la procesión de fiesta, así, que se celebra en alto por el Diácono. 17 de mayo durante la Misa Mayor concelebrada Pontificio, hubo misa y la adoración para el pago de los respetos a la reliquia, empezando por el arzobispo de Palo y los 18 sacerdotes que también oficiaban la misa. Uno por uno los miles de devotos de San Pascual y los asistentes fiesta alineados durante horas para presentar sus respetos. La vista era la piel de gallina inductor.

El arzobispo de Palo leer el certificado de autenticidad de la reliquia, y confirmó que la reliquia es de clase A, lo que significa que se trata del cuerpo de San Pascual Baylon, es decir, una porción de hueso del santo.

Al escribir estas líneas, la reliquia de San Pascual se celebra en el convento de Guinarona, y una reunión se llevará a cabo sobre la forma de asegurar su correcta visualización. El consenso es que debe ser en relieve en concreto, y sólo se saca en ocasiones importantes. Informe Romeo Magcuro, Jr.
