All Saints Day in the Philippines

All Saints Day in the Philippines

On November 1, let’s start saluting our ancestors, and thenceforth make it a daily or weekly habit. We have a saying that before you can love others, you must first love yourself. By extension, when you love and honor your ancestors, you also love yourself because your ancestors are you, and you are your ancestors.

For starters, you put up a shrine for the ancestors, where you offer them water, which is basic, and the other ancillary things like a cup of coffee, a slice of cake, candy, or any food that you wish to offer. It also helps if you know the primary ancestor spirit that is in your court. In my case, I had to have an ancestor investigation, which added to my appreciation of whom to dialogue with. Yes, dialogue, because the primary ancestor spirit is a conscious being, albeit ensconced in a different dimension.

Here are the basics to saluting the ancestors.

1. Hold a glass of water on your right hand and a lighted candle on the left. Face east and take three deep breaths and utter: “To my ancestors, mother’s-side, father’s-side, LOVE, HONOR AND RESPECT.” Then bow and pour some of the water to the floor/ground. (Parenthetically, you may also verbally thank the ancestors for their help or favor.)

2. Turn clockwise to west and utter the same prayer, bow and pour out some of the water.

3. Turn counter clockwise to north and utter the same prayer, bow and pour out some of the water.

4. Turn clockwise to south and utter the same prayer, bow and pour out some of the water.

5. Place the remaining glass of water at the center of the shrine plate, where a spoon, a fork and a knife form a triangle. And place the lighted candle in front of the glass of water.

You may do the ritual salute to ancestors daily or once a week. The important thing is that you have a connection to the ancestors, and the ritual reinforces that.

And it is a most empowering thing that you can do to love yourself. And loving yourself is basic before you can love others.

Namaste.

Towards Enlightenment: An Ancestor Reading

In this day and age of strange viruses threatening human annihilation and of albino animals popping up, the way to preserve one’s sanity is to go inside oneself to see what lurks in there, the better to determine one’s sense of purpose.

Which was why I had this ancestor reading consultation with Ancestor Healing, who is the go-to guy for such divination. Ancestor Healing has this innate ability to connect with your ancestors and derive an enlightening reading. The way I understand it, Ancestor Healing’s ancestors connect with your ancestors to come up with a road map for your life, which you will absorb and implement after the reading.

In my case, what came out were the following.

1. From my conception and birth my great, great, great, great grandmother from my mother’s side has been there, but it is only now that I have been made aware of the fact. This grandmother was well versed in magick and was so domineering and assertive to her wards–the quintessential protector. Now I have to thank her for the countless sanctuaries she has given me from all the vagaries of life. The reading also offered that I have this natural ability to connect to the spirit world and am a natural psychic and that I create things of beauty( hmmm. . .). Also, that my purpose in life is to elevate the ancestors and be of service to my tribe or clique.

Also revealed was the leaf of the Pili Tree (Canarium ovatum), as being associated with my great grandmother. The Pili is native to Albay province in the Philippines, where the majestic Mayon volcano is located. I guess my roots come from Albay?

2. The King Cobra spirit is second in my totem. Perhaps this explains my fascination with snakes.

3. Apolaki, the sun god and protector of warriors, is third in my totem, but the most dominant. The reading revealed that I have to connect with Apolaki to achieve my objectives in life.

4. A water spirit is fourth in my totem. The reading revealed that I can be adept at cleansing baths. Or perhaps this also explains my fascination with wine making and brewing beers.

In sum, I was told to nurture my totem spirits and dedicate a shrine to them.

Which I will.

China's pet, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo

China’s pet, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo

China plot Leaks! China funded Arroyo and the Supreme Court of the Philippines to deteriorate President Aquino’s planned meeting with the ASEAN leaders in Bali, Indonesia to discuss the disputed Spratlys.

The Plan A, B & C of China to win over the Spratlys has been formulated prior  to Aquino”s inauguration in June 2010.

The last visit of the high Chinese official to the Philippines is to reenact and revitalize their plan and shifting the old plan giving a full support to Arroyo to deteriorate Aquinos’ government. Mrs Arroyo is a very close friend of China during her more than 9 year term and even one of the signatories of the Spratlys’ 3 country controversy that also involves Viet Nam which hurts other claimants like Malaysia Brunei and Indonesia.

China funded Arroyo and bribed the Supreme Court of the Philippines to deteriorate the Aquino’s Plan in Bali, Indonesia in meeting with leaders to support the Spratlys peaceful claim.

China won over Aquino’s plan as Aquino lost the loop of the opening of theASEAN meeting and failed to meet leaders.

November 18, 2011 is the other day of showdown with the  aggression of Mrs. Arroyo’s plan to exasperate the President Aquino in Bali and focus in the Philippines issue instead of solving the South China Sea (West Philippines Sea) disputes with the ASEAN leaders.

According to the information leaked to us from an insider and our reliable source who has access to China’s plot for Spratlys that links Arroyo and other powerful officials of the Philippines; China is rejoicing as the Aquino’ Plan failed in meeting important people in Bali and they will do all efforts to divert the mind of the President from focusing on the issues about Spratlys in Bali into the recent issue with Arroyo in the country.

Aquino must focus

Justice Secretary De Lima is empowered by the President Aquino to do all legal means to stop Arroyo from leaving the country and to face the charges against her for high level graft and corruption and Election sabotage in 2004 election.

According to a political analyst; Aquino is elected by the People of the Philippines and must exercise his full power granted by the people to protect the country and its people against the attack of neighboring countries with ambition to invade the territory of the Philippines, using the former president of the Philippines as an instrument for the China’s success in claiming the whole Spratlys and Palawan Islands. He also added that China will not stop their plan and the government must expect many surprises in every special event.

President Aquino must focus in meeting with important people in Indonesia and leave the issue to De Lima and to the Armed Forces of the Philippines if needed.

The Arroyo’s case is an extra high profile one as the worlds’ emerging world super power China is in her back to destabilize the Aquino’s Administration.

The Ayahuasca Experiment

Ty's Blog

I first read about ayahuasca in a book titled 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl. In it, the author describes his personal journey from a disillusioned hermit to a psychedelic evangelist. As a writer living in New York City, Daniel Pinchbeck was witnessing the soul-crushing effects of living in a world devoid of meaning. His literary friends were sinking deeper into depression and addiction, even reverting to suicide while he watched helplessly as western society committed ecocide. He knew the two were connected. Hyper-consumption and materialism were wreaking havoc, not only in the physical environment, but in the mental and spiritual environment as well. At the nadir of his own depression, he was sent on a series of assignments that led him to several ayahuasca induced experiences that changed the way he saw himself, the world, and our collective future.

My newfound interest in ayahuasca led me to another book…

Who is Osayin?

Osayin's first appearance.

Osayin’s first appearance.

One of our favorite orishas is Osayin, the King of Herbs. Having met him once in the forests of Guinarona, Philippines, our destinies have become intertwined in a manner of speaking. Meeting him means his footprints–utterly fresh and alive in the wet sod–leading us towards home–footprints of only the left foot! We recall that he is called Timawa in our province of Leyte and were told that the being was diabolic. Only that Osayin is not that. On the contrary, he is gentle and approachable. And he does appear to us through photographs.

Here is Osayin’s story:

When we say that Osayin is approachable, we mean that he does appear when invoked, and he imparts surreal visuals through water, as exemplified in the following images:

We have thus made a pledge that we will visit him in Malubago Hills, Guinarona once we return. The pledge also carries with it some offerings–indeed a nice way of acknowledging his knowing and returning some favors that he showered us.

Who Art Thou?

Depiction of Baron Samedi

Depiction of Baron Samedi

At lot of times has it been bandied about that one has to know oneself. As in, who am I in my deepest core?

In the African tradition, there is the concept of ancestors, namely people who have passed on and who have your DNA. According to Dr. Jeremy Narby DNA has been present for 5 Billion years, and that’s how far man’s ancestors have evolved.

Also as per African tradition, one can determine or divine the identity of one’s guedes (ancestors guiding one’s life) through an experienced shaman.

So that, as part of our predilection for getting to know our spiritual DNA. we have had an African shaman do it for us, as follows:

Sorry I couldn’t get to you sooner but I’m always swamped with clients. When I do hands reading I hear the spirits talk to me and some of the spirits you have, have names I can’t even pronounce.

Your head spirit is Baron Samedi, there are two other barons lurking in the background, St Jerome and St Augustine. You are a very old soul.

You also have papa Loco and Cafou.

Your hands are full of ancestral spirits, we call them guede, you need to a service for them at least once a year, the simplest way to go about that is to request a mass for the dead of your family at a Catholic church, you give them the name of the person, usually a mass costs 10 dollars you need to give an extra 3 dollars for charity for the poor. The mass is not valid if you don’t give charity to the poor, you don’t need to be there when they perform the actual ritual.

I see you have strong Arabic spirits, the 3 kings sages, you also have a Hindu (Buddha) and a Chinese (Shinto)

Among others you have a Bossou (a bull) that’s why you are sometimes hard headed and temperamental,  Agwe Aroyo, Gran Bois ile, and Damballa accompanied by a really big snake Spirit (Nataranja he is a Cobra), you spread yourself out too much and do too many things at a time, you need to focus in one direction.

A lot of Black Female spirits, Erzulie Dantor, St Catherine, Gran Erzulie, Erzulie Mapiangue (Greek spirit)

You have a spirit who claims he is from Galapagos who calls himself Anunnaki, I thought that Anunnaki was Sumerian. I guess he gets around.

Having gotten this realization, what kind of ancestor would we be once we pass on? Would we be a part of one’s knowing–should that someone decide to know his inner core?
